Midsummer 2008

Hervé (cousin) and Catherine (a friend of his and us) had come from Paris to visit us in 'the far North'.

We took them to Skansen (the open-air museum) but unfortunately after most of the dances were over (it was a real mess to enter the park that afternoon).

To find an open restaurant that evening was also a challenge and we ended up at Zum Franziskaner eating potatoes, sausages and fish (wow)!

The rest of the week end was dedicated to visits in 'the colonies' (an area with small houses constructed during WWI with their own gardens, first dedicated to poor people who couldn't afford going abroad, today inhabited by their ascendants, not at all poor and having houses worth many hundres of thousands of Skr) and on the different islands in Stockholm.

It was exhausting for the Parisians, not being used moving their bodies (oh la la!) more than from the appartment to the car, from the car to their work places, from their work places etc... (according to certain polls the average Frenchman and -woman, walks only 300 meters per day!!).
