L'ancienne Abbaye de la Prée (Abbaye de la Prée sur Wikipedia) était un monastère cistercien du Berry situé sur la commune de Ségry (Indre).

Fondée par Saint-Bernard ou à l'époque de Saint Bernard en 1128, l'abbaye fut fermée et ses bâtiments vendus comme biens nationaux à la Révolution.

La Prée a été donnée en 1954 à l’association les petits frères des Pauvres.

Cette ancienne abbaye cistercienne a aujourd'hui une triple vocation. 
C'est une maison de vacances des petits frères des Pauvres, un lieu d’accueil temporaire et sur l'initiative de l'association Pour que l'esprit vive, un lieu de résidence et de travail pour les artistes.

The old Abbaye (Abbey) de la Prée was a Cistercian monastery in the province called Berry, comprising some parts of the central "départements" (Indre and Cher and some parts of Creuse...) in the commun of Ségry (Indre).

Founded by or in the days of Bernard of Clairvaux in 1128, the abbey was closed and its buildings sold as "biens nationaux", that is to say confiscated by the State during the French Revolution.

La Prée was donated to the organisation Les Petits Frères des Pauvres ("The Small /Insignificant/ Brothers of the Poor").

This old Cistercian Abbey has three vocations today.
It's a Summer House for the "Small Brothers", a temporary resting place and on the initiative of the organisation Pour que l'esprit vive, a residential and working space for artists.
