Nous avons longtemps parlé d'une visite en Auvergne et finalement, nous sommes y allé.
Nous avons emmené ma belle-mère et nous avons eu de la chance en pouvant rester dans l'appartement d'une cousine de ma belle-mère.
Ils sont les propriétaires d'un appartement dans la ville du Mont-Dore, une commune située dans le département du Puy de Dôme mais il vivent dans le Berry. Nous étions seuls dans un F3 de 80 m2.

We have for a long time talked about visiting Auvergne and finally, we went there.
We went there with my mother-in-law and we had the good luck being able to stay in the apartment belonging to a cousin to my mother-in-law.
They own an apartment in the town of Mont-Dore, a commune in the département of Puy de Dôme but they live in Berry, our part of the country.
We were the only ones in this three-room-apartment of 80 square meter.

Cette église a été construite entre 1885 et 1888
par l'architecte Gardin, ancien maire de La Bourboule.
Elle est inspirée de la basilique d'Orcival.
Elle est de style néoroman auvergnat.
Elle a été construite en lave blanche
agglomérée de divers matériaux volcaniques.

Comme dans plusieurs communes en Auvergne
on trouve des thermes à La Bourboule.
Les Grands Thermes ici a été ouvert en 1877.
C'est les thermes municipaux de la ville.
As in many communes/towns in Auvergne
one find the thermaes or hot baths also in La Bourboule.
Les Grands Thermes here were inaugurated in 1877.
It's the municipal thermaes in the town.
Et dans les villes thermales il y a souvent des casinos.

Le lac Chambon ci-dessous.
Nous nous sommes baladé autour du lac,
une promenade qui dure environ une heure.
Le Lac n'est pas profond, seulement quatre mètres mais
assez vaste, 60 hectare sur une altitude de 875 mètres.

We took a walk around the lake,
a stroll that takes about an hour.
The lake is not deep, only four metres but rather large,

Le soir nous avons bu des bières locales et artisanales.
In the evening we drank local and locally brewed beers.
Gratte-cul means actually "ass itcher"
or "itch ass" but is a liquor made of Rose hips
