Kvällens film efter Filmhuset blir 'A History of Violence' av David Cronenberg med Viggo Mortensen i huvudrollen men där också Maria Bello, Ed Harris, William Hurt utgör en del av skådespelartruppen i denna delvis ganska våldsamma film.
Personligen såg jag den i samband med Stockholms filmfestival 2006 med David Cronenberg närvarande eftersom man presenterade ett retrospektiv omkring hans filmskapande.
Denna Cronenberg är inte en av hans mest signifikanta eller intressanta filmer men som våldsunderhållning i den mer 'hårdkokta' stilen, är den inte dålig.
Mortensen spelar den perfekte mannen som lever ett stilla famljeliv i en sömnig liten stad tillsammans med sin hustru och barn. Han driver ett litet matcafé och får en dag besök av Ed Harris enögde gangster som börjar ifrågasätta hans identitet.
Självfallet har han något att dölja och nu har han en hel del att förklara för sin fru och barn.

The movie tonight after The Swedish Film Institute is 'A History of Violence' by David Cronenberg with Viggo Mortensen in the leading rôle but where we also can see actors like Maria Bello, Ed Harris, William Hurt.
This is a rather violent film and this is the European version with no cuts or at least fewer cuts than the American one.
I saw this film during Stockholm Film Festival with David Cronenberg present as they introduced a retrospective of his film making (2005).
This is by far one of Cronenberg's best films and not the most interesting but as a hard boiled presentation of 'good and evil' or rather 'evil and less evil' it's quite acceptable.
Mortensen plays the perfect husband married to a seemingly wonderful wife and two children, working in a diner bearing his name - or his present name.
Of course he is not the perfect man he seems to be and this is revealed when Ed Harris one-eyed mob leader visits him at the diner and questions his identity.
He now has a great deal of explaining to do when his family starts to questioning what is going on.
