Cinemateket visar idag filmen 'Dressed to Kill' av Brian De Palma med Michael Caine och Angie Dickinson i huvudrollerna.
Caine spelar en psykiatriker som är transsexuell.
En kvinna som är missnöjd med sitt äktenskap och sexuellt frustrerad besöker sin psykiatriker (Caine) för att tala med honom om detta problem.
Hon har kastat sig in i en tillfällig realation med en man hon träffat på en konstutställning.
Under konsultationen frågar hon sin psykiatriker om han finner henne attraktiv och Caine svarar jakande.
På frågan om han kan tänka sig att gå till sängs med henne, svarar han dock att han de facto är gift och dessutom är hon hans patient vilket inte gör det hela lättare.
Det visar sig dock att psykiatrikern är transsexuell och detta leder honom slutligen till att mörda sin patient. En annan kvinna blir vittne och svävar i livsfara.
De Palma arbetar inte mycket med personregi vilket visar sig i filmen.
Det handlar mycket om estetik, att finna det rätta ljuset och andra attribut De Palma vanligtvis arbetar med.
Det leder till att skådespeleriet blir lite 'taffligt' och att t.o.m. en sådan skicklig skådespelare som Michael Caine förefaller tafatt när han levererar sina repliker.
Lite spänning men långt från ett mästerverk.

'Dressed to Kill' - Brian De Palma - is the only film we see at the Cinematek today, Aurore and I. In one of the leading roles, or rather the leading role we see Michael Caine - "grrrrrrr", as Aurore express it when she watches him. I am not jealous.
He plays a psychiatrist who tries to help one of his patients - Angie Dickinson - with her marital problems. She is not happy with neither her marriage as a whole nor the sexual part of it.
She asks her psychiatrist (Caine) if he finds her attractive and he gives an affirmative answer. On the question whether he wants to have sex with her, he hesitates, saying that there are to obstacles. He is married and she is his patient.
However there are other problems, namely him being transsexual. She evokes strange feelings within him, feelings that lead him to kill her, in his role as 'her' - Bobbi - the female side of him.
A woman witness the killing and she is now in danger. Trying to get help by the police, she have problems getting them to believe her as she works as a prostitute and have a criminal record.
De Palma works a lot with the aesthetics and do not spend much time on directing the actors.
This is shown by the fact that such a fine actor as Michael Caine sometimes act in a somewhat 'clumsy' way saying his lines as if he read directly from the script.
105 minutes of some suspense but far from a masterpiece.
