Sofia kyrka - Selon Charlie

Sofia kyrka är dagens mål för gudstjänst.

Aurore och jag har tidigare varit där i samband med en konsert men ej gudstjänst. Personligen har jag besökt Sofia kyrka ett flertal gånger.

Kyrkan byggdes åren 1902-1906 och är uppkallad efter Oscar II:s hustru, drottning Sofia.
Arkitekten hette Gustaf Hermansson (som endast var 35 år gammal då han fick uppdraget) och kyrkan är byggd i s.k. rhenländsk övergångsromantik, präglat av såväl romanska som gotiska drag.
Hilding Linnqvist (Moderna museet om Hilding Linnqvist) har målat altarfresken och det gjordes 1950-51.

Omkring 30-40 gudstjänstbesökare, så som det brukar se ut i en genomsnittlig svensk kyrka en vanlig söndag.
Gudstjänsten leds av en manlig och en kvinnlig präst och då man läser evangelietexten spelar man parallellt upp en scen som belyser texten.
Den berättar historien om Jesus och kvinnan vid Sykars brunn.

Kollekten går till Lutherhjälpen och en representant från denna organisation berättar om hur dessa pengar skall används för att hjälpa unga människor, fr.a. kvinnor som utnyttjas i sexhandel att komma tillbaka till ett normalt liv.

Efter dett ser vi filmen 'Tre dagar med Charlie' (recension Svenska Dagbladet) av Nicole Garcia. En berättelse om ett antal mäniniskor och deras öden som i vissa fall leder till att de sammanflätas.
Ej i lika stor utsträckning som i 'Short Cut' eller liknande filmer, dock.

Filmen skulle nog ha tjänat på att klippas ned en aning eftersom alla historier och skådespelarinsatser inte är lika intressanta varför man kanske skulle ha fokuserat på färre individer eller på vissa individer mer än andra.

Som filmen nu gestaltar sig blir det som om man vill försöka få med lika mycket av allt. Till viss del står den unge pojken Charlie i fokus, en tystlåten individ som genom små antydningar i sitt försynta uppträdande, uppenbarar viktiga händelser för vissa människor i sin närhet.
Dessa händelser försätter hans far i dålig dager men dessa dåliga sidor hos sin far ådagalägger han p.g.a. sympati för en av sina lärare.

Sofia church is the goal for the church service today.

Aurore and I have been there before listening to a concert. I myself have been there many times.

This church was built between 1902-1906 and the name is derived from the consort of king Oscar II, queen Sofia. The architect was Gustaf Hermansson, only thirty-five years old at the time.
The church is built in so called (my own translation from Swedish) transitional romantic style from the Rhendelta. This is a mixture of elements from both the roman and gothic styles.
Sofia church has a beautiful altar fresco by the famous Swedish artist Hilding Linnqvist, painted between 1950-51.

There are about 30-35 people in the church, an common number when it comes to church services an ordinary Sunday in most parts of Sweden and particularly in Stockholm.

The gospeltext deals with 'the living water' - Jesus - and the gospel tells the story about the Samaritan woman and Jesus and how they met at the well in Sychar when she is going to fetch water.
The Samaritan woman admits that she has no husband and Jesus responds that she is telling the truth.
She has had five husbands and the present one is not her husband. Jesus is here talking about the gods she has been worshipping - adolatry - not men of flesh and blood.

The two clergymen/-woman (one man and a woman), when reading this text, stage a rôle play being Jesus and the woman. We like to play in Sweden.

The collection money goes to the 'Church of Sweden Aid' ('Lutherhjälpen') and their work all over the world. In this particular case the collection is aimed at helping those young women who are sold as sex slaves - the 'trafficking' problem.

After the church we see the film 'Selon Charlie' (see trailer above) telling the story about some people and their lives and disappointments concerning choises of occupation, partner, career and so forth.

Charlie is the little silent boy who, using small hints, reveal some very important truths about his father and other people related to him.
His disclosures changes the life for the different individuals involved.
Some of the people depicted and their life stories intertwine to some extents. Not though as in 'Short Cuts' and similar films.

The stories about the different characters in the film is not equally interesting why the director Nicole Garcia could have limited herself in the ambition to tell some of the stories or limited the number of persons involved.

She tries to give everyone the same amount of time in the film and it would have been better to focus only on two or three of the characters.
