Svenska (English below):
English:
At the French Film Festival today they show the film 'Le Serpent' ('The Snake'), a psychological thriller about a photograper, Vincent Mandel (Yvan Attal), who on the private level is inolved in a divorce where he risks loosing the custody of his child.
In his work he meets a woman who present herself as a substitute for the ordinary photo model who is said not being able to attend work that day. This woman does however have another agenda for her engagement than just wanting to become a model.
She is later found dead outside his studio and this is the beginning of a series of problems that now strikes Vincent.
All of a sudden an old classmate - Joseph Plender (Clovis Cornillac) - appears as a 'guardian angel' and offers him his 'assistance'. Plender is nowadays working as a private detective.
The services he offers his friend though tend to become disservices, on a grand scale.
A well structured film using small means to increase the tension up to 'la grande finale' in which unfortunately the action scenes to a great deal destroys the psychological tension that had been the trade mark of the film.
High finale marks though, in spite of the end.
