English:
The last few days - since the Chocolat Festival and the première on Zita - we have been busy with other things and therefore not given priority to films, exhibitions or other events.
The 16th of November for example there was a talk at the Swedish Museum of Architecture with the headline 'The Architect and the collection-Nils Carlsson'. The architect Nils Carlsson talked with senior lecturer Eva Rudberg (or vice versa) about his 50 years as an architect and all the changes that have taken place during these years. Unfortunately I wasn't able to go there.
I can recommend a visit at this museum and it's not only of interest for those who work within the trade. The exhbition is built up in a way that everyone can enjoy it even though one does not have any knowledge of architecture as such.
Sometimes I feel that people in general believe that it would be uninteresting to look at different architecture, different styles and who the architects behand the buildings are but on the contrary. There are also seminars and other events at regular intervals.
At the 'ABF-house' (The Workers Educational Association) on Sveavägen there was a seminar/talk on Wednesday with the heading 'What happens in Poland?' It was a discussion concerning the 'new' Poland, member of both NATO and the EU. Jakub Swiecicki from The Swedish Instiute of International Affairs was the headspeaker this evening.
The same evening there was a film at the Goethe Institute but what was displayed I can't remember. They had mentioned that it would be a film displayed on 'public demand'.
At The Royal College of Music (in Stockholm) there was a piano evening with students from the academy. I can recommend these arrangements not only because they are free of charge but because of the often very high quality of the musical performances.
Yesterday there was a concert at The Finland Instiute with a group called 'Gjallarhorn'. We didn't visit this concert either.
The Polish film club at cinema Zita yesterday ran the film 'Co slonko Widzialo' or in my own translation into English: 'What the sun have seen' by director Michal Rosa. We didn't see this film either, Aurore and I.
Finally Kulturhuset displayed a film at their new digital cinema (Klarabiografen). It was a documentary about the Japanese photographer/artist Araki: 'Arakimentari' by director Travis Klose. Klose followed Araki around Tokyo by night, the same nightlife that has given Araki so many motives for his photograps.
I haven't yet seen the exhibition with photos by Araki but I have earlier seen some photos by him in other contexts.
Tonight I am going to see (Aurore is to tired this night) one of cinema Zitas premières: 'Aching Heart' by director Oscar Hedin. In this movie Hedin follows a group of young Swedish muslims who decide to become martyrs. He tries to find out what the reasons are that lead young men (and women) to search this martyrdome.
Talking about free entrances: On The Museum of Modern Art there is no fee on Sunday.
